A graphic novel is a type of book wherein the narrative is conveyed through sequential art, generally in the comic book format. It encompasses anthologized, fiction and non-fiction works. Graphic novels combine images and words, and represent a form of comic where the complete story is delivered as a book rather than a periodical. The text accompanied with visual narrative provides an understanding of the context and clues, which shed light on the appropriate meaning of unfamiliar terms and words.
