Summary, etc Women constitute almost half of the international migrant population, travelling either as migrant workers or refugees. This migration usually takes place from third-world countries to wealthier nations. Most of the women migrants engage in paid labor, generally in gendered professions such as child and elder care, and domestic work. They are vulnerable to exploitation and abuse since their work takes place generally in private homes. The wages earned by women migrants are mostly sent home to their families left behind. Refugee women who flee their homes due to economic, environmental or political factors face multiple challenges in order to survive. These include limited access to healthcare, discrimination, sexual violence and risks of human trafficking. These factors in turn negatively affect their mental and physical health. This book includes some of the vital pieces of work being conducted across the world, on various topics related to women and migration. Different approaches, evaluations, methodologies and advanced studies on this topic have been included herein. The readers would gain knowledge that would broaden their perspective on the migration of women.
