It is observed, more percentage of failures in mathematics than in other subjects in Secondary school examination. Majority of the students are not opting mathematics at higher education level. Hence the investigator felt that there is a need to know various psycho — sociological factors contributing for mathematics achievement at Secondary school level, so that proper and suitable suggestions can be offered for mathematics teachers, working in secondary schools The above crucial conditions lead the investigator to make an attempt in this area of achievement in mathematics of secondary school students in relation to various psycho-sociological factors.
